Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT)
The Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) is the UK’s National Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) for cyber security, based at Queen’s University Belfast. CSIT was awarded a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education in 2015. The theme of our research roadmap is securing our digital tomorrow. New technologies are needed for the seamless integration of electronic security into future Smart Cities and Internet of Things. Through response mode innovation and longer-term speculative PhD research, CSIT will address wider security requirements across a variety of future systems. For example, efficient quantum-safe cryptographic architectures, high-speed integer-based fully homomorphic encryption designs, mobile malware detection methods that can counteract advanced evasion technologies, such as polymorphic and metamorphic obfuscation.
