MIDAS General Manager
Originally from Co. Cork, John graduated in 1985, with a Bachelor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from University College Cork.
From 1985 to 2007, he worked in various engineering and business leadership roles with Analog Devices in Ireland, the United Kingdom and the USA.
After the business he was leading was sold to ON Semiconductor at the end of 2007, he moved with it to lead the new combined worldwide business within ON to ensure a successful integration of the teams and businesses. From mid-2011 to 2019, he led ON Semiconductor’s Design Centre in Limerick, which trebled in size to include over 75 engineers developing power management products for the Computing & Consumer markets.
In recent years he has worked part-time as a consultant in the Technology and Healthcare sectors and leads the IT & Communications Committee and is on the Board of Management for Limerick Golf Club.
John has had a long association with MIDAS Ireland, with whom he has held various positions, including leading the Training Sub-Committee, Chairman / General Manager from 2011 to 2015 and was a Member of the MIDAS Advisory Board. He also worked on a project for MIDAS researching the future skills needs of the Irish Electronics Sector during 2020 and 2021.
John lives with his wife a few miles outside Limerick, and enjoys golf and outdoor activities. He has 3 adult sons who are working in the Financial sector in Ireland and Australia.
