At our Annual Gala Dinner on 5th Dec 2024, MIDAS Ireland honoured Liam Madden with an Outstanding Achievement Award. Liam is an Engineering Graduate from University College Dublin with a Master of Engineering from Cornell University. He worked for much of his career in senior technology leadership roles with industry leaders including Microsoft, AMD and Xilinx, and since his retirement from industry he has most recently been an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University. Even though Liam spent much of his career abroad, he maintained strong links with Ireland and has regularly contributed to Irish technology initiatives including a number of MIDAS events.
Before the award presentation, AMD Ireland MD, Brendan Farley (and Liam hire!) introduced the attendees to Liam with a very warm and appreciative speech on Liam’s contribution to Xilinx, AMD and his own career. Liam then gave a very enlightening and entertaining talk on his great career and journey through the Semiconductor industry to a captive audience.
