The Government’s Action Plan for Jobs 2012 highlighted the need for a renewed focus on manufacturing. The overarching objective of this study is to address the skills requirements of the manufacturing sector in Ireland, over the period 2012-2020. This study has been developed in tandem with the wider strategy for manufacturing, Making it in Ireland , undertaken by Forfás under the Action Plan for Jobs 2012 .
