MIDAS IRELAND INVITES YOU TO THEIR ANNUAL CONFERENCE‘Research in Action in the Microelectronics Sector’
This year the conference, which is taking place during Microelectronics Week, will address the
topic: ‘Research in Action in the Microelectronics Sector’.
The conference will open with a keynote address from Professor Mark Ferguson, Director General,
Science Foundation Ireland and Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government of Ireland, focused on
the economic impact and importance of research to this country. Following this Dick Meaney,
Vice President, Products and Technology Group, Analog Devices will address the audience around
the future of the industry.
Additionally John Blake, Chairman, MIDAS Ireland and Director, ON Semiconductor, will provide an
update to attendees on the industry generally. Other speakers will include Prof Orla Feely, Head
of Electronic Engineering at UCD and Chair of the Irish Research Council and Derek Boyd, CEO,
National Microelectronics Institute, UK.
Following the formalities you are invited to join MIDAS Ireland for an informal networking lunch
during which there will be a showcase session at which several MIDAS research partners,
indigenous and multinational companies will exhibit some of their latest research activities.
