The Winner is: Niall Murphy from NUI Galway, (Supervisor – Mr. Liam Kilmartin) with his project “Room Occupancy Estimation Using LIDAR”. Niall will receive a €1,000 cash prize.
The 2 Runners-up:- Jack Nolan, University of Limerick, (Supervisors: Dr. Pepijn Van De Ven (UL) Industry Supervisor: Dr. Colm Heffernan) with his project “Modelling of Degradation Mechanisms in LDMOS Transistors” and Orlagh Murphy, TU Dublin, (Supervisor – Mr. James Wright) with her project “Optimizing the fabrication process for next generation nanotextured solar cells with high conversion efficiency using industrially viable solar cell processes”.
Each will receive a €250 cash prize.
Highly Commended Award:-
This year due to the high standard we also announced two “Highly Commended” awards to two students, both will receive a €100 cash prize.
Nathan Gray, GMIT, Project title: “Ping – Pong Ball Launcher” – Supervisor – Ms. Natasha Rohan
Aaron Leeper, IT Carlow, Project title: “Remote Fire Suppression System” – Supervisor – Mr. Matty Brennan
